You are able to import a project plan into WeTrack, including the project itself, task groups, tasks, owners, and departments as well as other metadata. It is important, though, to do the import in the correct order so that all data is created correctly.
As a part of this process, you will be doing several data imports. We so not list the instructions for those processes here, instead see Import Data into WeTrack for all the process details.
Make sure any Action Owners (Employees) and Departments are created so these values can be applied to projects and tasks. Both Employees and Departments can be imported.
Import the project or projects, or create the project in WeTrack. For imports, the only required field is Title, but there are other optional fields such as ref code, Project Managers, Department Lead, Privacy Status and Due Dates. The Ref code must be unique from any other project currently existing in the system.
If you want to use Task Groups, import them at this point. The only fields are Title, and the Ref code of the Project to which they belong.
Import your Tasks. Required fields are Title and the Project Ref code, but you can also input Start Date, Due Date, Task Group, Owner, Department, and much more. You can import Sub-Tasks at the same time.
For a list of all available fields for each type of import, go to Profile > Settings > Import & Export > Import New Items. Choose the import type and an in-app guide displays listing all fields for that type of import as well as instructions how to add that information to the import file.
