A Gantt chart is a visual project management tool that displays projects and tasks as horizontal bars along a timeline, showing when each task starts, how long it lasts, and how tasks overlap or depend on each other. To access the Gantt chart, select Planning > Gantt in the left navigation. The Gantt chart is part of the Planning module.

View Projects and Tasks
A list of all projects you have access to is on the left of the page in a grid. On the right side is the Gantt. You are able to drag the divider between the sides to make them larger or smaller. We also recommend that you collapse the left navigation to make more space, and you can make the page full screen by using the full screen button in the upper right.
You have several tools to help you view specific projects more easily:
- In Gantt Options, group the projects by Department, Owner, or RAG.
- Search for a specific project.
- Filter the project list.
Each project shows on the Gantt as a bar, colored by its RAG status. To view more detail about a project you can expand it:
- Click the arrow by the project to view all task groups, then click the arrow by the task groups to view all tasks.
- Click the project bar in the Gantt to view all task groups, then click the task group bar to view all tasks.
- Click the three-line icon in the upper-right to expand or collapse all projects.
Tasks display as a rectangle, colored by its RAG status. Milestone Tasks are denoted by diamond shape on the chart and a flag in the Task List. Task Dependencies are shown by grey lines between tasks.
Double click a task to open a modal with high-level task details. In this modal you can update various information, including the Headline and RAG status. There is also a link to the task's full details page.
You are able to further refine the information you see using the Gantt Options. If you create a view you would like to use again, you can save it. See Gantt Saved Views for more information.
In addition to viewing information, you can add projects, task groups, tasks, and sub-tasks on the Gantt, as well as edit information. See Add and Edit on the Gantt for more details.

Customize your Gantt view using the Gantt Options. Click the three-dot icon in the upper right to open the drawer.
View Options
- Timeline Zoom: By default, the Gantt displays information at a high level by the quarter. For more detail, choose Days, Weeks, or Months. The shorter time frame you choose, the more information displays; if you are viewing a large number of projects, performance can be affected.
- Show/Hide Columns: Show/hide additional information in the grid by selecting/unselecting columns.
- Show/Hide Rows: To show/hide the project or task group bar from the Gantt, select/unselect those options.
- Timeline Restriction: The Gantt is restricted to displaying the current calendar year, but you can filter by a shorter time frame. Note that you cannot edit tasks or create dependencies when the timeline is restricted. Select the dates and click Apply.
- Group: Group projects in the Gantt by Department, Owner, or RAG status.
